I was hoping this wouldn’t happen, but unfortunately the Sacramento County Fair has officially been cancelled.

The fair was scheduled to be at Cal Expo during Memorial Weekend May 21-25.

The press release is below:

“COVID-19 UPDATE:
It is with heavy hearts, that Sacramento County Fair has cancelled the 2020 Fair due to the Covid-19 epidemic under the direction of the Sacramento Department of Health Services.  The safety and health of our Fair guests, partners, and exhibitors remains are the forefront of the decision.  We appreciate the outpouring of support and look forward to hosting the 2021 Sacramento County Fair May 27-31.

JLA UPDATE:

The Sacramento County Fair will be hosting an-on-line virtual auction to support our 4-H, FFA and Independent exhibitors.  The auction will be May 22nd (Sheep, Goats and Steers) and May 23rd selling (Pigs and all small animals.)  Additional details will be available soon.  Please bear with us as we work through all of the closing details of the 2020 SCF. ”

However, there is hope, because it looks like the CA State Fair is still on! It is scheduled to be July 17th – August 2nd. Of course anything can change at a moment’s notice.

We will of course keep you updated as much as possible.
