Uber Raising Prices In Some Of Their Biggest Markets

If you thought Ubers were expensive already, it’s about to cost you even more. At least in some areas. The ride share company announced that they will hike up rates for passengers in multiple cities. These include Washington DC, Los Angeles and San Francisco, according to Financial Times.
Apparently the Uber rate increase is an attempt to help keep current drivers. The money will be passed on to them, at least some of it will be. And we are talking an increase in all aspects—the distance, time and booking fee.
Uber’s Chief Executive said, “We have to make being an Uber driver more attractive because the alternatives are becoming more attractive.”
If I am being honest, I mostly go with Lyft because they always let you tip in the app. And, the wait is always less. But, what do you think about the rate increase?
