Disney World Resort in Florida has updated its ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ ride to be more mindful of modern sensibilities.

Walt Disney World Resort in Florida made some updates to its “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride. The changes were first introduced on Monday, Mar. 19. The company wanted to be more mindful of modern sensibilities and consequently rolled out the renovations. Probably a good idea.
One big updated scene was the wife auction. It featured a woman up for auction as a wife, bound and crying, as pirates yell, “We wants the redhead!”
Now, the auction is for the townspeople’s goods and treasures. The redhead, Redd, is still there, but is a pirate herself. She even has a speaking role!
Another change is a scene that first showed pirates chasing after a woman. It now shows the pirates chasing the woman’s food. According to Fox 35, Disneyland Paris already made the same changes to the ride last year.
See a video below of the updated auction display.
