Will Ferrell is lucky to be alive after escaping a scary highway crash in Orange County.

According to TMZ, the comedian was riding in an SUV with two other people Thursday night when the crash occurred.

Around 11 P.M., witnesses say another car side-swiped Ferrell’s chauffeur-driven car, causing it to flip.

Although it appears everyone survived, witnesses claim the crash severely injured one of the Ferrell’s passengers. The actor himself was conscious in the aftermath, and he spoke on his phone while sitting on a stretcher. While he was transported to a hospital, he has since been released.

It’s still not quite clear what caused the accident. Open beer bottles were visible on the road, but it’s not clear which vehicle they came from. Also, police are not saying if alcohol played any role in the crash as of yet.

We wish Will Ferrell and everyone else involved only the best as they recover.
