Carrie Underwood Sets Impressive Records With ‘Cry Pretty’

Give it up for Carrie Underwood! This is impressive. According to Billboard, the country superstar just landed her 4th #1 album, making her the 1st woman ever to bring 4 country albums to the top of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. But that’s not all.
Cry Pretty’s debut of 266,000 units sold is the biggest for any country album since Aug. 29, 2015! That’s when Luke Bryan’s Kill the Lights hit #1 with 345,000 units earned. Cry Pretty also earned the biggest overall week for a country album by a woman since the charts began ranking albums by equivalent album units in late 2014.
Still not done. Cry Pretty’s debut of 266,000 units is the biggest week for any album by a woman in 2018, beating out Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy, which hit No. 1 with 255,000 units. Wow! That’s a huge feat.
