On June 6, Walker Hayes devastatingly revealed the birth and loss of his baby girl, Oakleigh Klover Hayes. He honored her memory with a beautiful new tattoo.
The “Craig” singer got Oakleigh Klover’s footprint and name tattooed on his forearm. He shared a picture of the final ink on Instagram, calling it “perfect.”

Many noticed Hayes’ absence during the 2018 CMT Music Awards, reports Sounds Like Nashville. It wasn’t until the event was over that he explained why. He released a short statement on Instagram, writing:
“It is with great sadness that Laney and I share with you the news that our sweet Oakleigh Klover Hayes was born this morning at the hospital and is now safely in heaven. Thank you for honoring our privacy as we grieve.”
He consequently canceled upcoming appearances so he can spend time with his family.
